These books found me at the right time.
Austin Kleon’s books are a real life approach to re igniting inspiration, getting motivated, sharing your work with others, and giving yourself credit for the things you’ve done so far. At the beginning of this year, I noticed that my website had some serious cobwebs (the domain name wasn’t even active anymore). It inspired me to change platforms, re-assess what I’m actually *doing*, and to dig deep in the many things I’ve done over my lifetime.
Since I’ve moved home to Cleveland, I’ve been on a sort of creative hiatus, a much needed sabbatical after art school. I’ve still been making small things here and there, but nothing really *portfolio* worthy. It had sort of started to get me down, until I read these books.
Now I look at my work, adventures, and accomplishments, as just parts of me that are constantly evolving. More importantly, they always will be, because I am constantly evolving.
I’d like to recommend these books to anyone looking for a new perspective on how things get done. More than ever, I feel motivated to share my work, my life, my inspiration, and everything in between with the world.
